초록

There has been few academical study about liquor even though drinking is related to men’s life very closely. As traditional liquor has become more popular, the number of people who make it at home by themselves is increasing.
Koreans have made liquor from various medical herbs and drunk it as a kind of medicine. However without correct information about medicinal ingredients of the liquor, drinking can be a damage for health.
For that reason the researcher analyzed 『Dong Ui Bo Gam』 which medical informations by the mid-JOSEON period are efficiently organized and aimed at clarifying the efficacy of liquor and appropriate usages.
Finally this study arrived couclusions as follows. The liquor should be made from 춘우수(春雨水, spring rain water), 찰기장(秫, glutinous millet), and 신국(神麯, singuk) and alcohol is not the key element of the liquor in case of a medicine. When it is used for medical purpose just one fermentation is enough.
Liquor goes up in body and spreads out on the skin. It makes people cheerful and brave. It fights with the harmful energy from the outside of the body and invigorates. It protects liver and makes intestines stronger. Body becomes warm after drinking and that helps to get pregnant or sweat enough. Liquor can be applied to anesthetize patients and for the emergency treatment on account of its character of spreading fast in the body. It can be used to treat external injuries and helps to preserve food for a long time. Liquor is very useful to diagnose if the symptom has the character of a coldness or a fever. Most of all the point is that it is very important not to drink too much. Too much is as bad as too little.
